I'm only late if you were waiting for me

Oops, I'm late. At least according to the original schedule. I've been busy at work. I think that's enough detail. I assure you my complaints pale in comparison to most.

I also got a little creative this chapter and things got out of hand. I hope people will think it was worth it. I do.

Things have changed for me now that I started writing. I find humor in the things that used to bother me. What once was a source of irritation is now source material.

I've also returned to old habits. Exploring. The stream in chapter 3 is inspired by the view at certain holes along a disc golf course called Carter Park Disc Golf Course, in West Fork, Arkansas. I bumped into a couple of gentlemen who were kind enough to offer me, in their words, fellowship, but also happy to oblige me some time alone. I'm a natural at leaving people alone, but I'll try to offer up the fellowship a little more often. Maybe we all should.

The George Washington Memorial Parkway First Overlook gave me inspiration describing trees and nature. It also led me to a thought about how just a few steps off of pavement can feel almost like jungle. I stopped there after work to change into some comfortable clothes before a long drive home.

Work has become background music to my life, rather than the main event. I funnel my creativity to myself now in my spare time, and it's making me feel great.

It takes a bit of the time I would normally spend with my kids. But they are happily occupied watching their mother play a video game, so I don't feel too guilty. Besides, if they get to read this one day it might be some of the most authentic time they could spend with me, anyway.

Until then.
